# Privacy notice

Discretion is the service. This notice explains what personal information Argenteum holds, why, and the rights you have under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

## Who we are

Argenteum is a private concierge based in Cape Town, South Africa. For POPIA purposes, Argenteum is the responsible party for the personal information described here. You can reach our Information Officer at [privacy@argenteum.co.za](mailto:privacy@argenteum.co.za).

## What this website collects

Nothing, unless you write to us. This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising trackers, and loads nothing from other companies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes basic technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attack.

## What we hold when you contact us

- Your name and contact details, and the content of your messages.
- For guests: travel dates, preferences and the details needed to arrange your stay.
- For partners: your business details, services, insurance and references.

We collect only what we need to arrange what you have asked for. We never ask for more.

## How we use it

We use your information to reply to you, arrange and manage your stay or partnership, keep your preferences on file if you ask us to, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, and we never use guest details for publicity.

## Who we share it with

We share only what each provider needs to deliver part of your arrangements, such as an aviation operator, a residence, a wine estate or a protection firm. Each is bound to confidentiality. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

## Information sent outside South Africa

Our email and business systems may store information on servers outside South Africa. Where this happens, we use providers bound by data protection standards comparable to POPIA, as section 72 of the Act requires.

## How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or as the law requires. Retainer guests may ask us to keep their preferences between visits, and may ask us to delete them at any time.

## How we protect it

Access is limited to the people who need it, accounts are protected with two-factor authentication, and this website is served over encrypted connections only.

## Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how we use it. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at [inforegulator.org.za](https://inforegulator.org.za/).

## Marketing

We do not send marketing messages to anyone who has not agreed to receive them, and every message we send includes a simple way to stop.

If this notice changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date.
